This Year's Model Updates:

In an attempt to revive Monte Carlo's performance image, Chevrolet adds a supercharged SS version for 2004. The LS gets new 17-inch aluminum wheels, and there are a couple new appearance packages, Sport and Winner's Circle, available on the LS and non-supercharged SS.

Pros:
  • Spacious interior, low sticker price, strong acceleration with supercharged V6.
Cons:
  • Mediocre performance on non-supercharged models, bland interior with cheap materials, no passenger side-impact airbag.

my third MC and the most fun. Had a 77, 95 and now an 04. Would recommned! Its an exceptional drive if you like a sport suspension. My last MC (95) has 146,500 miles on it and is in great shape. It influenced my purchase this past weekend...

  • ONE GREAT CAR ! - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Traded in a 99 Seville STS on this Monte LS. Tested a new 300, looked great but seats was a killer on the back. This Monte rides and drives as smooth as my STS but lacks the HP by far but with 32 mpg and regular fuel it uses no complaints.Got this car for under 20 grand and it has all the right features not too much like the STS. The leather seats are great to.

We love our MC. We rented one in Orlando before buying, and I wanted to get one with the Buick 3.8 L before they discontinued (they last forever). Without the SC we use regular, get 34 mpg without AC and driving 60-65, 32-32 with AC and driving 70. Overall average is 29. We tinted the windows and put on aftermarket wheels. Excellent legroom in front and back, can merge and pass easily, and this is the only car that looks like its NASCAR version.

  • no problems - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

other than routine maintanance, I havent had a single problem throughout the years. When I purchased the car and brought it home, my son asked me WHY did I purchase this particular model car. He said theyre known to have transmission problems. Seeing this car on the lot I didnt pay attention to the make, or model. I was attracted to the body style and the bright red color. That test drive was amazingly comfortable with a smooth ride. She screamed "take me home and make me yours". Eight years, and 140K miles, signs of tranny problems are appearing in the transmission fluid change. Will run it til it drops as they advised. There will be no trading off this ole girl. Shes great

  • 2 doors rule - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

I love this car. It is the closest I have come to my 71 GTO. The only decent sports cars can only be two doors. When I am in the drivers seat, I am so comfortable the leather seats just rap around you. I know I can step on the gas pedal to get out of any predicament that happens around me. Chevrolet has a very good car right now, and the color red makes it really stand out as a decent looking sports car. I love driving 70 on the freeway with both windows and sunroof open.

Chevy has a winner. The only thing I would change would be rear wheel drive and a V8. I am a big person and this car fits me beautiful.Driving this car reminds me of 60s and seventys. Very comfortably. Thanks Chevy.

This car is Chevys best kept secret. Its fun to drive and gets the looks wherever it goes. This is as close to a Real Muscle Car look as you get these days, and has all the toys that you could want, all in an affordable package with not bad fuel economy. Nicely done Chevy...

I bought the car in January of 2005. Great ride, runs great, and the gas milage is very good. I live in Nebraska so winters with snow are common place. Car gets around great in snow with front wheel drive. The only problem I had with the Monte is the multi-function switch had to be replaced. Luckly I bought the extened warranty as this was a 600.00 part. I put the car into storage with 53,000 miles on it. She will be worth some money some day.
